Group Session Framework

The Christ-based Counseling Groups approach is not a free-for-all. While the groups approach allows for sharing, and positive-flow, our God operates with specific design.  Therefore, we pray that the activities while not burdensome or inflexible will promote strength, empowerment, and healing.

 Weekly approach
 -First week: Begin with housekeeping:
 Introductions (everyone personally introduce themselves)
 Length of Group
 Objective of Group
 Importance of covenant
 Confidentiality
 Being real, but Gentile

-Christ-basis: A Word from the Doctor Jesus and  His Assistant Physician Luke (5 minutes in Luke).
 -Opening prayer (1 minute)
-What's going on... Sharing round table (what happened)? Remember everyone has to share in first session (3 minutes).
 -Forty minutes of sharing
-Everyone assigned to watch the process of being made whole videos
During the week.  Know the 7 parts and be prepared to share.

Week 2 – 8

A Word from Jesus and His assistant the Physician Luke

Opening Prayer

Discussion of Therapy Basis:  Opening Passage, Video Assignment, Christ-based Concept

Sharing/Confessing/Affirming:  Where are you hurting? What do you need? How are you doing?

Season of Prayer: By twos pray for each other

Closing:

A covenant is a unilateral or mutual agreement with promises and provisions.  Both the Old Testament and New Testament are covenants.  It is a written agreement to ensure that all parties understand the expectations.  I promise to:

1. Make the necessary sacrifices to attend and share my hurts, challenges, and successes.
 2. Listen to others. Don't be so overwhelmed by personal hurts and pains that I’m not listening and caring about-and-for the other group members
 3. Focus on the Christ-based Therapy, and complete brief assignments
 4. Enter daily prayer for myself and group members
 5. Grow closer to the Lord through the group experience.
 6. Always be agreeable though I may not always agree.
 7. Finish with friends for eternity
